. What makes John Deere batteries so different from other batteries? Simply, they are designed and engineered for John Deere equipment. Remember, in most cases agricultural, industrial and lawn and groundscare equipment are un-suspended vehicles that operate in rough terrain under severe and sometimes extreme conditions. Under these conditions the battery has to withstand shocks of up to 6 g. Don’t worry, the John Deere battery will take them. Laboratory tests have shown that the John Deere battery will stand an acceleration of 20g, 10 times longer than other batteries. But there is more that makes the John Deere batteries so unique. They have been designed to correct some technical problems that have plagued the conventional (lead/calcium) batteries, the most common in the market place. A conventional maintenance free battery requires the addition of water under certain circumstances, being either extreme heat or a malfunction of the regulator. Low maintenance batteries on the contrary will not accept a fast charge. Both problems were corrected with the introduction of our latest line of John Deere batteries. This battery line took the best qualities of the conventional and low maintenance batteries and combined them into a hybrid with the positive plate made out of lead/antimony and the negative plate out of lead/calcium.
